R.I.P. Donna Summer. Here she is singing Protection from her 1982 S/T album. Protection was written by Bruce Springsteen.
I was hoping that Bruce would re-introduce 41 Shots into his set in the wake of the Trayvon Martin murder in Florida. This is an incredible song with a powerful message. The scenario is different, but the message still rings true, “You can get killed just for living in your American skin.” This was a real highlight for me at the Boston show on Monday. This version is taken from his show in Tampa last week.
Now I’ll always know exactly what you’re saying, Bruce.
Great song, great video (if you overlook the silly captions)
New Springsteen single! We Take Care of Our Own!
I can dig it!
This arrives tomorrow.
There are no words.
Happy Birthday Clarence Clemons. It’s not a lie when I say I miss you everyday.
This was, weirdly, my first exposure to Bruce Springsteen. I was 13 and remember thinking “woah, this guy must be pretty awesome if the Wallflowers let him play with them.”
… how young I was…
Happy Birthday, Bruce. You are the greatest man to ever walk the earth.
